WHY WAX?
Waxing is one of the best ways to temporarily remove unwanted hair. It is more effective than shaving because it removes hair from the roots, not just from the skin’s surface. Over time, hair in waxed areas regrows lighter and more sparse, or not at all. Even fine hair shadows the face, distorting and aging your features.
DOES WAXING HURT?
We have perfected our technique to reduce the amount of sting you may feel when the wax and hair is removed. To help alleviate the sting even more, you can take Ibuprofen or Tylenol one hour before your waxing appointment. If you are especially sensitive, wear loose fitted clothing to your appointment.
WHAT SHOULD I DO BEFORE/AFTER A WAX?
HOW LONG DOES MY HAIR NEED TO BE?
Hair needs to be 1/4 inch long. If it is too short, the hair will be difficult to remove. More pain is associated with longer growth. If you typically shave please allow 10-14 days before waxing.
WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN A STANDARD BIKINI AND A BRAZILIAN BIKINI?
A standard bikini wax removes all of the hair from your bikini area that would be visible if you were wearing a standard bikini, an extended bikini wax moves downward and inward from a standard bikini. Brazilian waxing is the most intimate of all waxing services and removes all of the hair in the bikini area and all hair from your backside as well. Some clients prefer to leave a small amount behind and others prefer to go completely bare. The decision is entirely up to the individual.
HOW LONG WILL THE RESULTS LAST?
Appointments are usually scheduled every 4 weeks. If this is your first waxing experience you can reasonably expect your results to last between 3 and 6 weeks with minimal growth in the days and weeks following your appointment, depending on how quickly your particular hair grows. Hair regrowth patterns are cyclical and you will notice an improvement in regard to the longevity of your results as you become regular with your waxing services.
IS BODY WAXING SANITARY?
It is at Salt Lake Waxing Co. All of our wax sticks are single use, and therefore, no risk of cross-contamination. We soak all tools used in a hospital grade disinfectant called Barbicide.
DOES BODY WAXING CAUSE HAIR TO RE-GROW THICKER?
No. This is a complete myth. Waxing, in fact, is know to actually stop hair growth all together in some cases. It is important to keep in mind though that waxing should be used as a temporary hair removal method as the slowing or stopping of hair growth takes many years of very consistent waxing.
IS WAXING SAFE FOR THOSE WITH SENSITIVE SKIN?
If done properly, waxing can be a great benefit to people with sensitive skin. It is much more gentle on the skin than many other methods of hair removal, IE. shaving and at home depilatories. It is impossible to predict who will have a reaction to the wax or any product used. If you have sensitive skin, please let your waxer know before starting your service.
WHAT TYPE OF WAX IS USED?
We use different types of wax for different services. Most waxing services require the use of soft wax, which is applied to the skin and then removed with a cotton blend fabric, muslin. For some services provided a hard is best to use. Hard wax is applied to more sensitive areas such as the nose, ears, and sometimes face. This wax adheres to the hair and not the skin.
DO YOU TREAT MEN?
Yes! However, we do not always offer the Male Brazilian wax. Please Call the salon to ask if we are currently accepting new male clients.
WHO SHOULD NOT BE WAXED?
If we missed any of your questions, please let us know! We have many years of experience and are more than likely to have an answer.
